Remember, CONSTRUCTIVE criticism will help me to improve, but abuse will not do so.!Steps:1) sudo apt-get install alien dpkg-dev debhelper build-essential - (Installs Necessary Packages)2) sudo alien pkgnme.rpm - (Replace 'pkgnme.rpm' - with Package Name)3) sudo dpkg -i pkgnme.deb - (Installs the new deb package - type the name of the new deb package instead of 'pkgnme.deb')NOTE = The Package I used was a great Anti-Virus Package, in the RPM format, I really love this Anti-Virus Application, and would recommend to download it from.
From, use the alien package:Alien converts an RPM package file into a Debian package file or Alien can install an RPM file directly. This is not the recommended way to install software packages in Ubuntu. If at all possible, install packages from Ubuntu's repositories using Add/Remove, apt-get, or the Synaptic Package Manager. Package dependency conflicts may occur when attempting to install RPM packages.These commands should do it: sudo apt-get install aliensudo alien -i packagefile.rpmAnd from:WARNINGalien should not be used to replace important system packages, likeinit, libc, or other things that are essential for the functioning ofyour system. Many of these packages are set up differently by thedifferent distributions, and packages from the different distributionscannot be used interchangeably.

In general, if you can't remove apackage without breaking your system, don't try to replace it with analien version.
